Softweb Requires NetID for Authentication
The Division of Information Technology’s campus software distribution Web site, Softweb, has changed its authentication protocol to require NetID and NetID password instead of a Stony Brook ID number and birthdate when attempting to log in and access the site. The switch to NetID authentication begins Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 9 a.m. As a reminder, the NetID is found in the SOLAR System under the “NetID Maintenance” link. This is also where you set your NetID password.
Please call Client Support at (631) 632-9800 for assistance. University-licensed software applications can be downloaded from Softweb, including Lotus Notes, Symantec AntiVirus, EndNote, Maple, X-Windows, Impatica, and more.
