DoIT Scholarship Applications Due June 1st
The employees of the Stony Brook University Division of Information Technology (DoIT) established a scholarship fund to offer support towards educational expenses to a continuing student who demonstrates an interest in the field of information technology.
Eligible students must meet the following qualifications:
- Enrolled as a full-time Stony Brook University undergraduate student with a demonstrated interest in the field of information technology;
- Completed at least 24 SB credits prior to the year that the scholarship will be awarded;
- In good academic standing at the completion of the spring semester prior to the fall semester award;
- Submitted unofficial transcript(s) of undergraduate courses and grades;
- Submitted a completed application for the DoIT Scholarship;
- Preference will be given to residents of New York City (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx and Staten Island) and Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk);
- Special consideration will be given to current DoIT student employees.
To apply, students need to fill out the online DoIT Scholarship application form. This form requires students to provide a 250-word statement outlining their professional and personal goals as they relate to information technology. They will be asked to upload an unofficial copy of their transcript from SOLAR to show undergraduate courses and grades, and a copy of their resume demonstrating current and past participation in student and professional organizations. The entire application process is paperless and should be completed via the online form.
Deadline for applications is June 1, 2009.
