AirNet
AirNet is the wireless (Wi-Fi) network on campus that students and employees use when connecting from the main academic buildings and common areas such as the Melville Library, Student Activities Center (SAC), and SB Union.
Download and Install the AirNet Client for Normal Network Access
The AirNet client allows for:

- Is required if connecting from a laptop computer
- Is available for download from the AirNet welcome page or from Softweb
- Requires authentication using NetID and NetID password when the AirNet client is launched
Limited Network Access via the AirNet Captive Portal
- Hand-held mobile devices such as cell phones and PDA's will be routed to the captive portal sign-in page which requires NetID and NetID password
- Public or encrypted services such as regular Web access (http), secure Web access (https), telnet using secure shell (SSH), and remote desktop protocol (rdp) are allowed
- The AirNet captive portal does not allow for AIM instant messaging or file transfer protocol (FTP)
- Will time out if idle for 10 minutes
- Will time out after 60 minutes (regardless of whether online activity has been constant)
- Does not use the same security encryption as the AirNet client
